What is Sim Golf?
Sim-Golf, short for simulation golf, represents the fusion of cutting-edge technology and the sport of golf. It brings the golf course to your home or business, creating a year-round golfing paradise regardless of weather conditions, daylight, tee time availability or time constraints!
The recommended minimum space requirements for a home golf simulator are: H2.7m W3.5m L4.5M. If you have less space than this please do reach out as we may be able to offer a bespoke solution.
On this page we'll break down the key components required to build an affordable home golf simulator.
Screen and Enclosure
We have worked with a multitude of different manufacturers until we got the right screen quality and design. We are confident we have sourced a superior quality product that provides a crisp picture whilst maintaining durability.
These enclosures ensure there is no sagging or creases in the screen. They have built in corner protection to ensure any mis-hit shots are safely absorbed. The screens are 4K ready and built with a triple layer construction.

Launch Monitor
The Launch monitor is the brain of the home golf simulator.
There's a huge number of options available when it comes to launch monitors - we can help you navigate this complex area to find the technology that works best for your golf sim. Let's break down the two main types of launch monitor:
Camera-based launch monitors
Work by taking pictures of the golf ball as it moves through the monitor’s launch window. The number and quality of images taken will vary between different launch monitors. Camera based launch monitors are ideal for a smaller space as they only track the ball during its first foot of flight. Be aware however that these launch monitors are usually set up for either left handed or right handed, as they generally can't be easily moved to alternate between left and right (unless overhead, as seen below).

Radar-based launch monitors
Work the opposite way from a camera-based launch monitor. They use radar to track the flight of the golf ball and then calculate the launch conditions that would have caused that flight. Generally radar based launch monitors require more space as they need to track the golf ball fly through the air. One major benefit however is that they accommodate both left and right handed players as they sit behind the ball and do not require repositioning between players.

Hitting Mat
Designed for daily use in golf simulators, our Airsoft hitting mat features advanced shock absorption that lets you hit down on the ball with a real turf feel. Made from high-quality woven nylon turf, it mimics real grass for a natural feel and reduces fatigue with a built-in 3D spring-like core.
The green surface enhances focus, while the premium rubber base prevents slipping—delivering a stable, fairway-like experience for amateurs and pros alike. Your clubs will glide smoothly with every swing. Dimensions: 1.5m (W) × 1.5m (L)

Projector
Selecting the best projector for your golf sim can be a challenging task. We have the experience and knowledge to provide what will work best for your requirements and budget - whether thats 1080p or full 4K.

Gaming PC
With home golf simulators requiring a gaming PC to run simulation software, each requiring different technical specifications, it can be a minefield to know what PC will do the job.
Golf Sim Solutions have partnered with one of NZ's leading PC builders to ensure our PCs are always up for the job. As golf simulation software continues to advance, requiring more and more power, it's best to ensure your PC is 'future proofed' to last for years to come.
Note: If you're wanting a 4K solution for your golf sim, this can easily be upgraded for you.

Live Sports
A golf simulator also doubles up as the perfect place to watch live sports. Whether it's rugby, cricket, basketball or anything else, enjoy it with your mates on the biggest screen and highest resolution possible!
Home Cinema & Gaming Haven
If you need a little support getting sign-off from senior management, don't forget these set ups are effectively cinemas ready to go. Just log in to any of your streaming services or load a USB via your gaming PC, and set the kids up with an immersive cinema experience.
With lots of connection options to the projector, your options for cinema or gaming are endless.
